We arranged for the third graders from the Alexander Montessori School to put on a trial and learn about the criminal justice system in a field trip to the courthouse. The children performed the trial of State. v. Gold E. Locks. They also were able to speak with and ask questions of the Honorable Peter Lopez and were then taken to observe a jury being selected in front of the Honorable William Thomas who does an excellent job of explaining the presumption of innocence and the rights afforded to individuals who are accused of a crime. |
